Love the Skin You Are In
Posted in beauty, organic by jen | Tags: natural beauty“Product junkie” doesn’t even begin to explain the obsession I have with all things that you can lube and lather all over your skin (keep your minds out of the gutter). I am a girlie girl to the fullest, so you can imagine what my makeup bag and vanity cabinet looks like. If it was invented and it smells good… then I own it. This obsession, however, is certainly not jibing with my newfound commitment to REDUCE, plus it’s been taking it’s toll on my pocketbook as well.
My new commitment is to donate the products I can’t use, to friends who are more than happy to give my sloppy seconds a new home. I’ve also made a promise to not buy any new products until I’ve finished every last drop of the ones I currently own, and then it’s strictly natural, eco-friendly products from here on out… Goodbye $225 La Mer face cream (yes I really spent that much on a 2 ounce pot).. hello Whole Foods Natural Beauty section…

Bag Lady…You Gonna Hurt Your Back
Posted in environment, reduce/reuse/recycle, shopping by thuy | Tags: reusable bagsSurprisingly one of the easiest changes we made was converting from plastic bags to reusable cloth bags. We’re not going to lie, it took us a minute to get into the habit of bringing them into the store on our weekly grocery run, but eventually it became second nature.
We gotta give a shout out to Whole Foods Market who is the first U.S. supermarket to commit to completely eliminating disposable plastic grocery bags to help protect the environment and conserve resources. Their ultimate goal is to be plastic bag-free by Earth Day, April 22, 2008. Join the movement. B.Y.O.B (Bring yo’ own bag).

Big Blob Of Fur…
Posted in animal rights, celeb by thuyDear lawd, how many animals had to die to cover Aretha’s arse? The “Queen of Soul” needs to show some R-E-S-P-E-C-T for all life forms.
