Streets Is Watchin….
Posted in Peeps We Rep, fashion, reusable by jen | Tags: reusable totes, streetwear, supreme, the hundredsAs much as we love a good pair of Stella Mcartney (vegan-friendly) pumps or a great vintage find… we’re definitely heavily influenced by streetwear culture. We are happy to report that some of our favorite streetwear brands are getting the “green” bug.
Nothing says summertime like a splashy blue and neon pink packable tote by the iconic skate store Supreme. This tote is my new gym bag/beach bag/just looks damn cute for the summer bag… Also over at The Hundreds, we’re seeing the “green” message being spread with their esoteric take on the whole green movement, evidenced by their latest tee.
Last but not least the fine folks over at Boost have collaborated with iconic Graffiti legends Madsteez and Claw Money to create a series of low toxicity “vegan approved” artificial leather mobile device carrying cases. The collection includes fanny packs, laptop cases and generally any type of carrying case for all of your technical devices (ipod, blackberry etc). Get out there and support your local businesses in their efforts to GO GREEN!!

Lights Out
Posted in environment, events, home by thuy | Tags: earth hour, lights outFor one hour this Saturday, March 29th, 2008, millions of people across the world will be observing Earth Hour. Originating in Sydney in 2007, the Earth campaign has now gained global attention. The concept is to reduce electrical output by turning out all lights for one hour. Some of the key cities involved include Toronto, San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago etc. The Sears Tower, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz will be turning off their non-essential lights from 8-9 pm.
Last year, the restaurant Chaya Venice (in Venice California) was a participant. They turned off all lights between 8 and 9pm, and served food by candelight. Unfortunately, we’ve been having a hard time finding any participating restaurants/businesses in the Los Angeles area… Stay tuned to see what kind of shenanigans we get into to celebrate this monumental “green” day. Check their website for details on how to create your own Earth Hour, and to find participating businesses and establishments in your city.

Organic Keiki’s diverse collection of toys, accessories and organic clothes are not just fun – they’re friendly to the planet and to the people who make them. “We are committed to providing products that are made from socially and environmentally responsible resources.
