He founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, which promotes alternatives to violence and incarceration, in 1996. He has won many honors including a Reebok Human Rights Award and an Ashoka Fellowship, and has served on the boards of many groups, including: the National Apollo Alliance, Social Ventures Network, Rainforest Action Network and Bioneers. Excuse me, I have some googling to do..gotta find out if Mr. Jones is married.
*UPDATE: Damnit, he’s married! I was ready to pack my bags and head back to my old stomping grounds in Oakland. Why are all the good ones taken???

Duck Vaginas
Posted in animal cruelty by thuy | Tags: animal cruelty, duck vaginas, Louis ckLouis CK is one funny man. And he ain’t playing about the duck vaginas. Go to a grocery store in Chinatown or any asian market and you will be amazed and maybe disgusted at the animal parts they sell in their seafood and meat deli.

Olsen Haus Shoes Rocks My Socks
Posted in animal rights, environment, fashion, shopping by thuy | Tags: environment, olsen haus, shoes, veganBeen eyeing shoes from Olsen Haus for quite some time. I would like to tell ya’ll what this fine company represents in the shoe game in my own words but they put it down so beautifully on their website, I’m just gonna rip a small tidbit from their philosophy page and save myself some time. Sorry, but after a 14 hour workday my fingers are giving me the side eye and telling me to get my arse to bed.
Business as Usual? More like Business Unusual.
The philosophy of olsenHaus is anchored in the universal truth, respect for all beings, with a dedication to the expression of truth in the material world. We are committed to being 100% animal-free / cruelty-free, producing functional goods, with a high standard of ethical social responsibility in animal rights, human rights, and the environment. Products are made of non-animal materials, in sample rooms and factories that are personally checked for ethical practices & environmental impact.
While many shoes kill, pollute, and destroy lives and ecosystems on their journey to your feet, we recognize these destructive production practices and do not consider them ‘business as usual’. We at Olsenhaus believe these processes can evolve toward a respect for animals, ecosystems and people.
Damn, that was like reading a bedtime story. Off to sleepytime I go so I can dream of kick ass companies that actually care, thriving ecosystems and crystal blue, pollution-free skies. Oh and shoes. Lots of them.

Banana Rebublic Goes Green
Posted in environment, fashion, sustainability by jen | Tags: banana republic, sustainabilityI’m not the biggest Banana Republic fan but I have to commend them nonetheless for doing their part to be more environmentally conscious.
“Sustainability is the new luxury“, is their new motto.
The eco-friendly Heritage collection, is described as “signature sportswear for the really modern attitude.” The line debuting this summer, ranges from $39 to $150 and is made out of organic cotton, soy silk, and bamboo.
The company has also started using more recycled materials and changing treatment processes so its laundry facilities can comply with the Business for Social Responsibility’s clean water guidelines.

Stranded Polar Bears Make Me Sad
Posted in art, environment, film/tv/print by thuy | Tags: art, climate change, environment, london, polar bears
Even if their fake. Over the last few days, everyone’s been talking about a polar bear and a cub seen in London. It was actually a 16 foot high sculpture floating on the River Thames to mark the launch of “Eden”, a new natural history TV channel.
It took two months to make and was created by a team of 15 artists. This 100% recyclable structure is 20 x 20 and weighd three thousand pounds. The sculpture traveled 7.5 miles from Greenwich to Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament for a photo shoot.
Sir David Attenborough said: “The melting of the polar bears’ sea ice habitat is one of the most pressing environmental concerns of our time. I commend Eden for highlighting the issue; we need to do what we can to protect the world’s largest land carnivores from extinction.”

- licking pumpkin
- touching her breast with her hand while eating broccoli
- pumpkin from behind between legs
- rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin
- screwing herself with broccoli (fuzzy)
- asparagus on her lap appearing as if it is ready to be inserted into vagina
