Please stop delivering this mess to our doorsteps. Most everyone in my apartment complex tosses them bagged, unopened and right into the recycle dumpster. There’s a new kid in town and it’s called the INTERNET!

Thanks.

How cute are these pouches for carrying your personal items while riding?

Hambone Designs are a result of a brother and sister team that made a rule of giving handmade gifts for holidays to family and friends. Visit their Etsy shop to see the rest of the designs or to request a custom order.

Not really but she does a good job of taking jabs at celebrity designers. And although you can’t actually buy any of the items..there’s a website with descriptions of the pieces. Such as this one.

Zuzuz Petalz is a unique, yet complex blend of white flowers that creates a powerful alluring fragrance to indulge your senses. I was recently gifted a purse-size roller and I’m addicted to it’s sexy scent.

With subtle hints of gardenia, jasmine & other white petal botanicals, Zuzuz Petalz is a perfume oil to transcend seasons & embody every moment of the day. It is comprised of essential/perfume oils and delicately mixed with an organic carrier, all of which are sustainable.

Monsanto: Liar Liar, Seeds On Fire

Monsanto= EVIL. And they’re not too happy about their portrayal in Food Inc. From their site:

Welcome to the Monsanto Fact site about the movie Food, Inc.

Food, Inc. is a one-sided, biased film that the creators claim will “lift the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that’s been hidden from the American consumer.” Unfortunately, Food, Inc. is counter-productive to the serious dialogue surrounding the critical topic of our nation’s food supply.

And they even provide a fun lil’ quiz for you to take. It says I lost but I got every single one of those answers right.

Go see Food Inc.

Advocacy Group Decries PETA’s Inhumane Treatment Of Women

“Look at these poor women. They’re made to stand outside all day in the wind wearing nothing but lettuce leaves or wear a grey bikini pretending to be a mouse stuck in a glue trap.”

The Onion strikes again.

This Should Be Good For The Landfills

Posted in film/tv/print, tech/gadgets, video/media by thuy | Tags: ,

Wired reports that CBS has embedded a video ad in Entertainment Weekly. The ad is called a “VIP (video-in-print) promotion” and it works similar to the audio greeting cards. Wired says it works better than Esquire’s e-ink cover did, but the one downside to the ad is that it is loud and there is no volume control.

Let me see.. a 2-5 minute promo and then a lifetime in a landfill. Makes total sense.

Mother Jones Calls Out Fiji Water

A post on the Fiji Water Blog attempts to answer the issues brought up in a recent Mother Jone article: “The real irony here is that the reporter suggests that buying FIJI Water somehow legitimizes a military dictatorship, when in fact the jobs, revenues, and community projects supported by FIJI Water are strong contributors to growth in the well-being of the Fijian people.” Oh, and there’s a Mother Jones response to the response in the comments of the Fiji Water Blog post.

Thanks Raymond!
