The Cove Comes To South Park
Posted in animal cruelty, video/media by thuy | Tags: dolphin slaughter, japan dolphin slaughter, south park, taiji, the coveThis episode might be viewed as racist but I don’t care, I still love Southpark! Trey Parker and Matt Stone are my heros for the day.
Commercial whaling has been banned by the IWC. The Japanese hunt whales under the guise of “research” then package and sell the meat. Japanese whalers killed over 4500 whales in the past two decades, and have almost no “research” that proves their slaughtering was justified. YOU BASTARDS!!
Learn more about the slaughter in Taiji, Japan here and be sure to watch the movie ‘The Cove‘ when it comes out on DVD.
Above is the animation- watch the real thing below and see why this cruel practice must stop. Warning: GRAPHIC!
The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? But rather, Can they suffer? ~~Jeremy Bentham
Ladies Take It Off For Climate Change
Posted in environment, sexy ting tings, video/media by thuy | Tags: 350.0rrg, climate changeIt’s not Playboy material and I’m not sure how effective the message is coming from 350.org, but hey- it’s girls stripping down (kinda) and it’s for environment, so I ain’t gonna knock it.
What is 350?
350 is the estimated safe level of CO2 (in parts per million) for our atmosphere, a level first announced by Nasa scientist Jim Hanson in 2007 and most recently endorsed by Rajenda Pachauri, the head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The problem? We are already at 390, way over the 350 mark that some scientists believe is even too high.

Next time you lose a tooth, forget about putting it under your pillow for a measly buck. Recycle that ish and send it to Polly Van der Glas.
I’m loving the knuckle duster ring.
This post made me think of my favorite verse from the Brand Nubian song Slow Down: “With a wide-eyed look and a rotten-toothed smile.”

Hit + Run At Environmentaland
Posted in events, los angeles by thuy | Tags: environmentaland, Hit & Run
I met up with my friend Giles to check out the last night of Environmentaland at the Hollywood & Highland center. There was a band, games, prizes and screen printing done by my friend Mike Crivello’s company Hit + Run.
If you’re looking to give your guests something cool at your next event- look into getting custom tee’s from the H+R team. There are organic cotton styles to choose from and the last time I spoke to Mike, they were looking into getting vegetable dye as an addtional option. WIN!!
Sorry for the lack of pictures of the actual event- my battery died and Giles has an iPhone= no flash.
Block Montaño Gets Electric

Bumped into Cesario “Block” Montaño -the underground “Mayor of Venice” and fell in love with his old school electric bike. Block keeps it real by skating, walking or biking to his local destinations. The only 4 wheels he supports are the ones on the bottom of a deck.
Block is co-owner of the skate shop Venice Originals and he also directed and co-produced the documentary film, Rising Son: The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi. Watch the trailer below.

Their niche product, the Wrecord bracelet, comes in designs from silly to sophisticated. WBM’s full line includes bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings and t-shirts, all inspired by the idea of relating to music lovers of every generation.
Love the new pieces. Would love it more if they made a Los Angeles plate necklace. Wink, wink Patrick and Brian.
