Bye Bye Pet Love
Posted in animal cruelty, animal rights by jen | Tags: puppy millsWho can resist stopping at a pet store and wondering “how much is that puppy in the window?” We’ve all spent hours gazing at these fluffy little creatures and dreaming of bringing them home with us.
Unfortunately, the reality is that pets sold at pet stores endure horrible conditions on their way to the glassed-in prison in the mall.
Longstanding pet store, Pet Love, in the Beverly Center is closing their doors after 15 years in business amidst accusations of puppy mill practices.
National animal rescue organization, Best Friends Animal Society, staged an anti-puppy mill campaign at the mall with table and fliers and petitions for “A Puppy-Store-Free-L.A”, which led to the mall not renewing Pet Love’s lease.
Doors official close January 31st, 2009.
The message here is to get your pets from a rescue center or animal shelter.
