Celebrate m.a.m.a. earth and Make A Change For the Better June 11

m.a.m.a. e a r t h is a new non-profit organization that is ready to introduce itself to the world. Proceeds from this charity event will benefit Nourish the Children and Shine On Sierra Leone.

m.a.m.a. e a r t h is the brainchild of Kailani Bayot, a mother of two from O’ahu, HI who now resides in Los Angeles. Kailani has never been short on ideas and she’s pouring all of her creative energy into m.a.m.a. e a r t h.

“We are dedicated to raising awareness and making a change for the better by helping charities raise funds to benefit their causes,” says Kailani. “The concept of m.a.m.a. earth started with bracelets I make using hemp and the natural stone azurite-malachite, which is believed to be a sacred stone that promotes healing and aids in transformation. It has been a natural progression to become a non-profit organization and the bracelets are a wonderful way to raise funds for schools or organizations along with your favorite charity.”

The m.a.m.a. e a r t h red carpet event takes place at Dakota Lounge located at 1026 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica on Thursday June 11th at 8pm. Presale tickets are available at www.dakotalounge.com. Bring a pair of new or used shoes for the m.a.m.a. e a r t h shoe drive, enjoy the show, silent auction and check out some amazing vendors and artists. Proceeds to benefit Nourish the Children and Shine on Sierra Leone.

Friends and family, paired with fun times, food and drinks at Standard, Simon, Temporary Spaces and then no mans land.

Deep Is So Fresh And So Clean Clean

The keystrokes have been light here in the GG&S world. With all the Earth Day celebrations going on this month, it’s been like a non-stop birthday party.

This past Sunday, our Deep team joined forces with Aveda and the Surfrider Foundation for a much needed beach cleanup at the Venice Pier. Much to my relief I didn’t come across any condom wrappers this time. Small bits of Styrofoam were the biggest problem, followed by plastic drink caps, gum wrappers, water bottles, and plastic bags.

Special thanks to Aveda for continuing the celebration after the cleanup and turning the Deep lounge into an Aveda sanctuary.

We are grateful to everyone that came to give love to Mother Earth. The Deep fam is looking forward to doing more of these in the near future so stay tuned.

First stop- Deep Venice office to prep our new organic cotton “Listen To Your Mother” tees and tanks.

Aveda Gets DEEP: Walk For Water Clean-up In Venice Beach 4/26

In developing countries, women walk an average of 6 kilometers (4 miles) every day just to get clean water.

Aveda Beverly Center, together with DEEP-LA, are joining forces this year to raise awareness and funds for Surfrider Foundation. This Sunday April 26th, we invite you to participate in a 6K, beach clean-up walk at the Venice Pier (at Washington Blvd) from 10AM to 12PM, followed by an evening of music, dancing and relaxation at DEEP in Hollywood.

Wear your DEEP shirt! There will be discounted entry to DEEP later that night for all participants. For more info, call Surfrider at 310.994.4247. For those who are not able to attend, www.justgive.org has set up a donation/pledge page.
