Blog Love: Lady Art Looks
Posted in beauty, blog love by thuy
Ladies you must check out my girls hair/makeup blog Lady Art. My favorite section is the Step by Step where they have video tutorials of how to apply makeup. I’m not very good at painting my face but these vids make me want to run out and get the recommended brushes and makeup and go to work on my mug!
Nice job Alana and Azelle! xo
We Got A Facelift

Maybe it’s not as glamorous as Jocelyn ‘Catwoman’ Wildenstein, but we love it.
Major thanks go out to Shahram Shokrian. He’s the one that helped get our blog up and running in the beginning. And he still to this day saves me from inhaling a liter of vodka and staring at my screen when things go awry by continuing to loan his fabulous talent and time. My liver thanks you Shahram! ♥ Visit his Podkive site.

NAACP vs. Gay Marriage: Do The Right Thing By Raymond Roker
Posted in blog love, boys we heart, equality for all, politickin' by thuy | Tags: California Gay Marriage, California Prop 8, California Proposition 8, equality for all, Gay Issues, gay marriage, gay rights, Gays In The Military, huffington post, Julian Bond, naacp, prop 8, raymond rokerOk, I lied. Had time to check out some blogs, Twitter and FB and I wanted to share a post my friend Raymond wrote on Huffington Post this past weekend.
Read it, watch the videos, check out the feedback and share your thoughts. 1000 comments so far and he’s done it before with this post: Stop Blaming California’s Black Voters for Prop 8.
Keep on keepin’ on RayRo. xx

Back In Business
Posted in blog love, wtf by thuySomehow I got my one good brain cell to figure out how to post HTML codes for pics on my blog-which for me is like learning to read Latvian. The only problem is, I now have to go through an additional website to create the code but as our friend Marcus Troy said, “Blogging ain’t easy but somebody’s got to do it.”
It was a nice short break, but honestly, I kinda missed posting. Sitting on my laptop, researching stories, scouring blogs and having a drink in between. Then looking for pictures, sizing them and then having another drink. Linking, categorizing, tagging and then.. you get the picture- I missed leisurely boozing while blogging!

Word To Yo’ Mother (Earth) 2009
Posted in blog love, environment by thuyHappy Earth Day to our family, friends and readers. April 22nd holds a special place in our heart. Jen and I started our blog in February 2008. GG&S was created as an outlet to share the small changes we were going through in our new found passion to go “green,” amongst our peers and loved ones.
In the beginning we wrote our posts sporadically, getting in 5-10 posts a month. After we attended our first Earth Day event, one year ago today, we were so inspired, we decided to post more regularly on a daily basis and we’ve grown so much since then.
We have never claimed to be 100% “green.” We do our small part and get really excited to learn that our friends are doing the same when they come across a post that motivates them. It’s all about baby steps. We like to consider ourselves as tree snugglers instead of tree huggers.
We give thanks to everyone for all their comments, support and positivity to the little blog that could. We’ll keep ‘em coming as long as you all keep reading or until our Macs die out on us or until carpal tunnel kicks in.
Keep it Green, Grown and Sexy.
Mad love.
Thuy & Jen

Saturday evening I stopped by the YDT launch party/earth day event. The Veev was flowing, feet were shuffling to the music and good times were had by all.
If you haven’t checked out YDT, please do so now. It’s your one stop shop for all the haps in the Los Angeles “green” scene.
Congrats to Tracy & Lauren. Big things ahead!

Green Grown And Sexy In 944 Green Issue
Posted in Peeps We Rep, blog love, film/tv/print, los angeles by thuy | Tags: 944 magazine, earth day, green issue, rickey kimHollatchagirls!
We’re excited to be featured in this months 944 magazine, alongside fellow bloggers, Tracy Hepler and Lauren Johanson, from www.yourdailythread.com (another green, grown & sexy blog.)
Conscious-celeb, Alicia Silverstone (watch her behind the scenes vid) graces the cover and the issue showcases eco-designers, natural products and “green” spaces.
Follow the link below to enter in a free 30 day giveaway they’re having in honor of Earth Day. We spotted reusable totes and drink bottles as swag. Um HELLO- we said FREE! Jump in here to enter. Your unemployment check will thank you.
Mad love to Rickey Kim for putting us up. Be sure to read the ‘Editor’s Letter’ in the front of the mag. RK drops it exactly how we like it. “Green as can be.”
On news stands now.. go get yours. Yes, we know. We’re telling you to support paper. Just do it. We’ll use one square of toilet paper and one square only, every time we use the loo to offset the green guilt.
Ok, we’re lying, that’s nasty. What was Sheryl Crow thinking when she said that? Just get yourself a copy. Or two.. we won’t tell.
What’s that? You don’t want to go to sleep at night knowing you’ve contributed to the destruction of some beloved trees? Click here for the digital version. Pages 91-92.
