Donna Karan Label Goes Fur-Free!!
Posted in animal cruelty, animal rights, celeb, fashion, shopping by thuy | Tags: donna karan, fur, peta, project runway, tim gunnThis is amazing to hear. PETA has tried for years to get Donna Karan amongst other designers to ditch fur. Some successfully and others not. Well days after PETA launched their (now disabled) DonnaKaranBunnyButcher.com site, DK has announced that starting with the fall 2009 line, the fashion house will no longer use fur. Tim Gunn of Project Runway narrated a video that was sent to DK, breaking down the cruel world of fur in the fashion industry.
Thank you to PETA for fighting the fight and to Donna Karan for doing the right thing. Chalk one up for the furry ones thanks to Tim Gunn!
