Green Acres Is The Place To Be

Last night we attended a party in honor of Sean Combs, (is that the name he’s going by these days?) who had received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, earlier in the day. The lavish star studded event was held at billionaire Ron Burkles’ sprawling Beverly Hills property called “Green Acres.” There wasn’t anything particularly “green” about the soiree although they did shuttle the attendees to and from the event with a pickup and drop-off at the Beverly Hills City Hall, so I guess that could be considered a short distance car pool. In addition, they served drinks in glass as opposed to the disposable type, but of course this was a Diddy affair, (with a rumored 2-3 million dollar price tag) so I’m guessing red plastic backyard barbecue cups were not an option.

We were excited to have met someone from Veev, the latest drink to use the acai fruit from Brazil. Veev is a 60-proof white spirit that along with acai also lists other antioxidant-containing fruits such as acerola cherry and prickly pear in their ingredients. They donate $1 per bottle to green initiatives such as the Rainforest Action Network and Sambazon’s Sustainable Acai Project. Click here to read more about their eco-friendly business practices. Also, shout out to Jason B. for the invitation to the star-studded event.
