See How Single Stream Recycling Works
Posted in reduce/reuse/recycle by thuy | Tags: single stream recylcingHere in LA, we have our blue recycle bins where we toss together a variety of paper, glass, plastic and aluminum, and lord knows what else. I’ve always wondered how it gets separated once it makes it to the plant. What happens if I accidently put a plastic piece with the #5 in there? Here’s two clips that break it on down.
I did learn one thing. Loose shredded paper is a problem. They suggest putting it in a clear plastic bag. Great more plastic. Whatever it takes I guess.
