Thank You For (Not) Smoking

I’m not going to get too hyped up yet, but I’m counting down the days until the latest ban on outdoor smoking at Los Angeles restaurants passes. There’s nothing I hate more than a side of second-hand smoke to go along with my organic chai tea latte and tofu scramble on a beautiful Sunday morning outdoor brunch.

According to the Los Angeles City Council Committee, we will have to wait another 40 days before we get the final word on whether the ban will be passed. The plan calls for a ban on smoking within five feet of any restaurant table which is located on a sidewalk, in an outdoor courtyard or on an exterior patio, goes through.

Unfortunately the ban would only apply to sit-down dining establishments, but would not apply to bars and clubs that have outdoor patios.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this one!!
