Our Clothing Habits Are Hurting The Environment
Posted in Uncategorized, environment, fashion, sexy ting tings, shopping by thuyThe UK group More Than Pretty Nickers wants the fashion industry to take a stand against destruction to the environment for production of clothes. We are starting to see more lines made from organic textiles and designers coming out with eco-friendly lines, but it also comes down to the consumer.
Buy less and choose quality, classic pieces that will last a long time. Seems a bit unrealistic with the birth of fast fashion, trends changing every month and stores that sell disposable clothes such as Forever 21 and H&M.
It’s the big name fashion houses that should be paying attention to this. Stella McCartney is a great example. She refrains from using fur or leather in her line and uses some green practices for her business. Even the shopping bags used in her store are biodegradable. Small things like that can make a big difference in helping our precious environment.
